I strongly believe knowledge is a priceless attribute for any individual. In my opinion knowledge in any form is a blessing but needs to be shaped in the right way. This section covers the main domains within cybersecurity with some information around each domain. These include Security operations, security architecture, threat intelligence, risk management, frameworks and standards.
Each domain is analogous to the organs of a human body. Though the brain might end up controlling the entire body, every organ plays a key role in the normal functioning. Similarly, all these domains have a pivotal role to play and equally important for an efficient security. For cybersecurity, to be a successful factor for safeguarding information, all these departments have to function efficiently and communicate effectively.
I was scrolling through some articles when I came across a cybersecurity map which can be considered as a visual representation of almost all domains in the cybersecurity world. Based on the mind map, I’ve tried to compose the knowledge base.

“Real knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance.” Confucius
“Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.” Dalai Lama
“Knowledge with action converts adversity into prosperity.” A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Security Operations
One of the vital domains which is actively responsible to monitor, protect, prevent and remediate cyber attacks.
“Technology trust is a good thing, but control is a better one.”
― Stephane Nappo

Security Architecture
Like a cell is the structural and functional unit of life, security architecture comprises of the structural and functional behaviours of an organization.
“A good plan is like a road map: it shows the final destination and usually the best way to get there.” – H. Stanely Judd

Risk Assessment
With ever increasing cyber attacks, we need to be prepared for possible damage. The process of risk management entails processing, analyzing, assessing cyber risks and trying to patch existing flaws within an organization
“Be smart, but don’t outsmart the process and look for shortcuts”
― H. J. Chammas
Frameworks & Standards
Frameworks and standards are essential blueprints for an organization to stay secure against cyber attacks. There are many established frameworks in cybersecurity which have been followed by companies worldwide.
Threat Intelligence
Staying vigilant against possible threats and attacks is one of the most important facets for an organization’s success. Threat intelligence helps an organization to strategize against different types of threats like external and insider threats.
Digital Forensics
Forensics has always been an interesting science as it would help us to connect the dots to an event. In cybersecurity, after an attack digital forensics helps to understand the attack which enables to deal with the shortcomings and be prepared better.
“THERE IS NO WEALTH LIKE KNOWLEDGE, NO POVERTY LIKE IGNORANCE.” BUDDHA
“We can have all the knowledge in the world, but it means nothing without the wisdom to know what to do with it.” Marie Osmond
“Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities for action; it is about creating learning processes.” Peter Senge
“Creativity leads to thinking. Thinking provides knowledge. Knowledge makes you great.” – Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam
